Our Original Used Vinyl

We take great pride in ensuring that the original vinyl we sell is of the best quality and that the grading of the records is as accurate as possible.

We endeavour to play all the records we sell - not always possible of course - but the turntable is always spinning.

The vast bulk of our original records are VG+ or N/M. Under only exceptional circumstances would we sell a record not at least VG. We use an ultra sonic cleaner to clean the original used vinyl that we sell. Again, due to time constraints it is not always possible.

We use the following grading system used by Discogs:

Mint (M)

Vinyl

Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed. Should be used sparingly as a grade, if at all. All our new records are Mint.

Sleeve

Absolutely perfect in every way. Perhaps still sealed. Has never been played.

Near Mint (NM or M-)

Vinyl

A nearly perfect record. A NM- record has more than likely never been played, and the vinyl will play perfectly, with no imperfections during playback. The record should show no obvious signs of wear.

Sleeve

The LP Sleeve should have no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable similar defects. The same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, etc.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

Vinyl

VG+ Vinyl: 50% Near Mint value. Shows signs of careful handling, minor cosmetic defects. Smooth playback, minimal surface wear, slight scuffs, and light scratches. Slight warps are acceptable. Label may have ring wear or discoloration, barely noticeable. Spindle marks may be present.

Sleeve

Slight wear, corners turned up, seam split. LP cover may have minor wear, cut-out hole, or indentation, almost Near Mint.

Very Good (VG)

Vinyl

Generally worth 25% of Near Mint value. More pronounced defects than VG+. Surface noise evident, groove wear noticeable, light scratches affecting sound. Labels may have writing, tape, or stickers.

Sleeve

Sleeve will show wear to the edging and creases to the spine, seem splits but structurally the sleeve will be solid.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)

Vinyl

Generally worth 10-15% of the Near Mint value. A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be played through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present. While the record will be playable without skipping, noticeable surface noise and "ticks" will almost certainly accompany the playback.

money back guarantee
