RSD 2020 - How It Works
Due to COVID-19 Record Store Day is going to be running a little bit differently this year. The first major difference is that what has previously been a one day event, has now been split into 3 'drop' dates. Whilst the majority of the releases remain the same, their release dates have been divided over 29th August, 26th September and 24th October. To find out which records are released on which date, head over to the 'Record Store Day' section of our site. The second of the major differences is the changes to how online sales will work. In previous years, stores would have to wait a week before any records could be sold online, however this year, all remaining stock will be up for purchase on our site at 6pm on the day. This makes it easier for any customers who are isolating, or wish to avoid coming to the store in person. Unfortunately we cannot promise that all records will still be in stock by 6pm, so coming to the store in the morning is still your best bet if you have something particular in mind.
Our rules in store will also be running slightly differently in order to make sure we operate as efficiently and safely as possible. We will be enforcing a socially distanced queue outside the shop which a member of staff will be monitoring. The maximum purchases per person is now 4 items (no doubles), and a maximum of 4 customers will be allowed in the shop at all times.
We strongly advise all customers bring with them a list of priority records as well as back-up buys in case we have sold out. This will help us to operate quickly and safely, and reduce the amount of contact customers have to have with each other as well as the records themselves.
Whilst it may not be the Record Store Day we're all used to, we are certain it will be just as exciting as usual. We look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks!
